SHIPPING GEOGRAPHY

We ship cable to places where it is hard to get

RECab is a Moscow export supplier of cable and wire from Russian mills. We have no plant of our own: we buy from mills we have worked with and audited, and ship the cable abroad.

Every point on the map is a port or a border crossing our consignments have actually moved through. Below are the lanes, typical transit times and delivery terms. Your destination is not on the map? Then it is the first one we price.

Cutaway of an armoured power cable: stranded copper conductors in white insulation under steel wire armour and a black sheath

Power cables

Plant power supply, cable trunk routes and distribution networks. Copper and aluminium conductors, PVC and XLPE insulation, armoured constructions.

Industry, networks and infrastructure
Cut end of a screened control cable: colour-coded copper cores under a foil screen with a drain wire, in a grey sheath

Control cables

Automation, telemetry and process control. Multi-core constructions with an overall screen, individually screened pairs, or unscreened.

Automation on industrial sites
Cut end of a cable in an orange sheath: copper conductors each wrapped in tape, over a green inner covering

Fire-resistant

Circuit integrity under fire — for fire protection systems, smoke extraction, emergency lighting and escape routes.

Fire safety systems in buildings
Cutaway of a halogen-free cable in a light grey sheath: colour-coded copper conductors bedded in filler

LSZH — halogen free

Low smoke, zero halogen. Mandatory for metro systems, airports, hospitals, shopping centres and rolling stock.

Public buildings and transport
A coil of black rubber-sheathed cable on a frosted metal surface, the cut end showing colour-coded cores

Special purpose

Cold-, water-, oil- and chemical-resistant constructions for the Far North, offshore, mining and petrochemicals. Rubber and polyurethane sheathing.

Harsh environments and remote sites
Cable accessories laid out: heat-shrink joints, copper cable lugs, pipe clamps and a section of galvanised cable tray

03 — MODES OF TRANSPORT

How we ship cable from Russia: sea, road, rail and air

Cable is heavy, bulky freight: a single drum of power cable typically weighs close to a tonne — at that weight it will not sit on a standard pallet. So we price each route against the actual consignment — net weight, drum dimensions, the date you need it on site and the delivery terms.

Cable drums battened for shipment, being loaded into a 40 ft container

Sea freight in containers

DEFAULT MODE

20 ft and 40 ft containers out of St Petersburg. The default for consignments from 18 tonnes, which covers almost any project volume. Drums are secured to a lashing plan and the box moves to the port of discharge without transhipment.

PORTS: St Petersburg, Vladivostok
INCOTERMS: FOB · CFR · CIF
TO NORTHERN EUROPE: 6–9 days
TO SOUTH-EAST ASIA: 35–45 days
RECAB

Road transport

CIS · TÜRKIYE · EUROPE

Curtain-side trailers and container chassis where sea freight is overkill and the deadline is tight. Part loads on a groupage truck are available and noticeably cheaper on small consignments.

FROM: 1.5 t part load
INCOTERMS: DAP · DDP
TO TÜRKIYE: 4–6 days
TO CENTRAL ASIA: 7–10 days

Rail

LONG HAUL

Covered wagons and block trains to China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran. Beyond 3,000 km and from 20 tonnes, rail beats road on both price and schedule reliability.

FROM: 20 t
CROSSINGS: Zabaykalsk · Naushki · Dostyk
TO CHINA: 20–25 days
TO UZBEKISTAN: 14–16 days

Air freight

URGENT CONSIGNMENTS

For emergency stock, tender samples and short lengths for type testing. Air runs at roughly five to eight times the sea rate per kilogram, so we offer it selectively — and we will tell you when you do not need it.

FROM: 50 kg
INCOTERMS: CPT · DAP
TRANSIT: 3–5 days
HUBS: Istanbul · Dubai · Delhi · Almaty

Packing before dispatch

Cable ships on wooden drums, battened before dispatch: lagging boards nailed across the flanges and pulled tight with steel bands, so the cable is covered before it leaves the mill. A drum travels and is stored standing on its flange edges — laid over flat, the lower turns carry the weight of everything above them.

  • Wooden drums, lagged over the cable and steel-banded
  • Standing on the flange edges in transit, chocked and lashed
  • Drum number, length and gross weight on the packing list and on a plate fixed to the flange

Every shipment travels with the full document set: certificate of conformity, factory test report for the batch, certificate of origin, packing list with drum numbers, commercial invoice and export declaration. We work against letters of credit and against advance payment — terms are agreed at contract stage.
04 — PARTNER MILLS

Where your cable is made: our partner mills in Russia

We do not run a plant of our own. We buy from Russian cable mills we have worked with and audited, and we do not hide which ones.

Every partner is plotted on the map at russianfactories.ru, each with a catalogue of the cable types it actually produces. Open it before you order and check the source of your consignment yourself.

08 — FAQ

Questions buyers ask before the first order

Short answers to what comes up in the first email. Every one of them is set out in full on the page above.

What does RECab supply?

RECab supplies cable and wire made by Russian mills for export: power cables, control cables, fire-resistant and LSZH types, cold-, water-, oil- and chemical-resistant special-purpose constructions, and complete cable systems — cable, joints, lugs, trays and fixings under one contract.

Do you make the cable yourselves?

No. RECab does not run a plant of its own and buys from Russian cable mills it has worked with and audited. Every partner mill is plotted on the map at russianfactories.ru together with a catalogue of the types it actually produces, so the source of a consignment can be checked before ordering.

How long does shipping from Russia take?

Typical transit is measured from despatch and excludes production. St Petersburg to Rotterdam takes 6–9 days by sea. St Petersburg to Mumbai takes 35–40 days by sea. St Petersburg to Casablanca takes 20–28 days by sea. Moscow to Istanbul takes 4–6 days by road. Moscow to Shanghai takes 20–25 days by rail. Moscow to Tashkent takes 14–16 days by rail. Moscow to Dubai takes 3–5 days by air. The transit for a specific consignment is confirmed at booking.

What is the minimum order?

The minimum consignment depends on the mode of transport: 18 tonnes for a sea container, 1.5 tonnes for a road part load, 20 tonnes for rail and 50 kg for air freight.

Which Incoterms do you work on?

FOB, CFR and CIF for sea freight, DAP and DDP for road, CPT and DAP for rail and air. The term is fixed in the export contract.

Which ports and border crossings do consignments move through?

Sea consignments load at St Petersburg and Vladivostok. Rail crosses the border at Zabaykalsk, Naushki and Dostyk. Air freight moves through the hubs at Istanbul, Dubai, Delhi and Almaty.

Which documents come with the cargo?

A certificate of conformity to TR CU and GOST, the factory test report for the specific batch, a certificate of origin on form ST-1 or form A, a fire safety declaration for fire-resistant and LSZH types, a packing list with drum numbers and lengths, the commercial invoice and the export customs declaration. Scans go out by email on the day of loading and originals follow by courier.

How quickly do you quote?

A quotation comes back within one working day and covers price, availability and production lead time. Freight is priced separately, with three routing options.

My specification is not written in Russian type designations. Can you still quote it?

Yes. Send the type, cross-section, length and standard, and RECab matches a Russian equivalent to those parameters or to the IEC standard.

How is payment made?

Against a letter of credit or against advance payment, in foreign currency, by bank transfer or in stablecoin. Terms are agreed at contract stage and the rate is fixed at invoicing.

Which countries do you ship to?

More than 150 destination countries, from Eastern Europe to South-East Asia and Latin America, at around 10,000 tonnes of cable and wire a year from partner mills. A destination that is not shown on the map is priced on request.
